The MHSC seeks to appoint a service provider to evaluate the effectiveness of current Hearing Conservation Programs (HCPs) in the South African Mining Industry (SAMI) and identify opportunities for improvement. This will involve a local and international literature review, analysis of DMPR data to determine noise risk profiles, study of current HCPs to identify best practices and gaps, development of a guidance document, and a stakeholder workshop. The project duration is 18 months.
