SANEDI intends to appoint a suitably qualified service provider to conduct an Ex-post Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) of the VC9008 regulation for the period 2020–2025. The study will assess the effectiveness, efficiency, environmental impact, socio-economic outcomes, market transformation effects, and implementation challenges associated with the regulation. The findings of the study will support evidence-based policy refinement, future regulatory improvements, and strategic decision-making for the continued implementation of appliance energy efficiency regulations in South Africa.
