Free BoQ check

Check your bill of quantities before you submit it.

Upload your pricing schedule and we'll tell you what's in it and what's wrong with it — unpriced lines, sub-totals that skip a row, cells that will show errors on a South African Excel. Free, no account, and your file is never kept beyond 24 hours.

What happens to your file

We read it to write the report below. If we can price it, we keep the file for at most 24 hours so you can choose to have it priced, then delete it. If we cannot, we do not keep it at all. After that we keep only counts — how many lines, sections and problems — never your file, its descriptions or your rates. It is not shared, and it is not used for anything else.

Not read: scanned PDFs (pictures of pages), older .xls / .xlsm workbooks, files inside a zip.

What we check

Bids get thrown out for arithmetic, not ambition.

A sub-total that misses a line, a rate left blank, a cell that reads #VALUE! on the buyer's machine — any of these can make a bid non-responsive before anyone looks at your price.

What's in it

Line items, sections, provisional sums, rate-only items.

What's missing

Unpriced lines, and rate-only lines left blank, named by row.

What doesn't add up

Sub-totals that skip a line or count one twice, named by row.

What will break on their machine

Cells that display errors on South African number settings.

What you get back

Rows and reasons, not a score.

Each problem is named by its row — in a PDF, by its page and item — so you can open your own file and fix it. For example:

The total on row 8 (F8) leaves out 2 lines (1 of them priced): rows 4, 5; counts row 2 twice.

Privacy

It's your document and your rates.

  • We read your file to write the report you see. The row-by-row report goes back to you and is not stored.
  • If we can price it, we keep the file for at most 24 hours so you can choose to have it priced, then delete it.
  • If we cannot, we do not keep it at all.
  • After that we keep only counts — how many lines, sections and problems — never your file, its descriptions or your rates.
  • It is not shared, and it is not used for anything else.

Who it's for

For whoever is pricing the bid at 11pm.

If you're the owner, the estimator and the one pressing submit, this is the check nobody else is doing for you.

What we don't do

We don't set your price.

  • We don't suggest rates. Your rates are yours and the risk is yours.
  • We don't change the file you upload.
  • We don't submit anything on your behalf.
