Bid Questions are the things about a specific bid that your documents cannot answer. They are asked when a workspace opens and can be changed at any time before you download.
The questions and why they are asked
| Question | Why it is asked |
|---|---|
| Are you bidding as a joint venture or consortium? | Changes which forms and declarations apply, and whose documents go in the pack |
| Do you intend to subcontract more than 25% of the contract value? | A declaration the buyer's forms require; it can affect preference points |
| Do you, any director or employee have a relationship with the buyer or an evaluator? | The declaration of interest — required on SBD 4 and its equivalents |
| Will you attend the compulsory briefing, if there is one? | Non-attendance disqualifies the bid where a briefing is compulsory |
| Can you deliver the full scope within the stated period and quantities? | A commitment the technical proposal and cover letter make on your behalf |
| Is your line-item pricing ready? | Decides whether the priced schedule can be prepared now |
| Do you want to submit an alternative offer? | Some tenders allow one; it needs its own pricing and sections |
The three states
- Unanswered — you have not said. A required question left unanswered holds back the sections that depend on it, and is listed in Final Review as your input.
- Provisional — a placeholder QuickTenders suggested, not your declaration. It is listed in Final Review until you confirm or change it, because a form that prints a provisional answer prints something you did not say.
- Confirmed — your answer. Used in the sections and forms.
Some answers become declarations on forms you will sign. Read them as such.
